“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

– Anaïs Nin

the woman behind the rabbit

I grew up in the beautiful Rocky Mountains and have been moved and healed numerous times by their beauty and the magic that comes from the natural world. As a child all I wanted to do was create. Whether on stage, with my grandfather’s old pen and inks in hand or my mother’s acrylics, I longed to lay out my soul. It took years to find a specific medium that I felt I belonged to; I itched for something creative and a way to work with my hands.

Flowers speak to me through the lessons they teach… their imperfect and unique nature, their fleeting time and temporary gift, and their purpose: to bring joy and beauty to time, space and person.

Every Mother’s Day my father and I would venture to the market in the dark hours of the morning. I insisted on hand-picking each flower, refusing to have them arranged by anyone but myself. To me there was no greater joy, than creating something for the person I loved above all. I carry this feeling with me every time I create an arrangement or get to know a bride. I love taking time to know my clients, and creating pieces inspired by their unique story.
